Name: Frances Brogan Phone: 0419639231 Course: Masters in Nursing Email: thebrogans1@bigpond.com I chose to study a Master of Nursing as I was at a crossroads in my nursing career. I have 20 years of clinical experience and I am wanting to venture into nursing education. A Master of Nursing enables me to have the theoretical support beyond the clinical domain. Opportunities become more available when clinical experience is supported by the academia of a Masters of Nursing. The Masters of Nursing offered at CSU suited my requirements better than any other university. The clinical education subjects which were offered are far superior to what any other University was able to offer. I was also attracted by the online platform of study. I have four children, work a rotating roster, and this combination results in face-to-face learning too challenging. The final attraction point was the offer of credit for work experience, I really believe it is important to recognise prior learning or experience. My experience as an online student has been extremely positive. I feel online learning has allowed me to study a course I would never have considered previously. The online platform has enabled me to achieve results beyond my expectations. CSU has a very well established online platform, and as an online student I felt more supported in my studies than my previous experience as an undergraduate on campus student at a different university. Prior to commencing my course I enrolled in a few of the studylink courses. It had been a long time since I had studied at university. I found these courses particularly useful in developing my academic writing skills and referencing skills. These courses were able to guide me with the expectations of academic writing. I have also utilised the ALLaN assignment feedback services, particularly for the first few assignments. This service provided invaluable feedback which I was able to incorporate in to the development of my acad
